Unlike many engine swaps, this setup retains factory functionality including cruise control while integrating with the Porsche chassis through Renegade’s wiring and engine management system.

    The original conversion represented over $60,000 in engineering and components, excluding the cost of the vehicle. In 2025, the car returned to Renegade Hybrids for an extensive service that included resealing the engine, clutch service, drive kit service, updated Plug & Play electronics, LINK G4X ECU, dyno tuning, alignment, and additional supporting maintenance totaling more than $20,000.

    Producing approximately 390 wheel horsepower, this Cayman delivers the balance and handling of the 987 chassis with the reliability, torque, and aftermarket support of Chevrolet’s LS3 platform. Extensive documentation from Renegade Hybrids accompanies the vehicle, including both the original conversion records and the recent service invoices.
