1986 BMW R 80 RT

This fully custom-built 1986 BMW R80 has been transformed into a modern classic with meticulous modifications and top-tier upgrades. With less than 300 miles on a complete rebuild, it features an airbox delete, OEM battery delete, and a curved subframe for a clean, minimalist look. Aggressive Heidenau tires complete the scrambler build, and modern parts ensure it’s a reliable, leak-free bike that runs like a dream and sounds amazing.

The off-frame rebuild was done by a German toolmaker and bike builder from Milwaukee, while the complete engine, transmission, and final drive were masterfully redone by Thoroughbred Cycles in Minneapolis. Powder-coated parts and a custom-painted tank make this bike one of a kind. The paint scheme pays tribute to the “Toaster” style tank and adds an aggressive angle that matches the bike’s beautiful lines.

This R80 features many new parts from tip to tip, including a YSS shock, ferro-phosphate battery, 450W lithium-style charging system, digital ignition, and an all-new wiring harness for enhanced performance. Every part of the bike has been replaced, rebuilt, or custom-made for this scrambler. Nothing is left untouched, and detailed records show the care that went into every detail, big and small. The design is heavily loaded with quality parts from Waltzwerk and Motogadget. The forks were reconditioned and lowered at the Waltzwerk factory in Germany.
