Makes & Models is excited to present this extensively restored and thoughtfully upgraded 1970 Jaguar E-Type Roadster, chassis number 1R13488, finished in timeless British Racing Green over a beautifully appointed Black leather interior.
Widely regarded as one of the most beautiful automobiles ever produced, the Series II E-Type combines iconic styling with engaging driving dynamics. This particular example underwent a comprehensive rotisserie restoration and performance-oriented renovation completed in 1997 at approximately 45,000 miles by Ultimate Street Jaguar (GTJ), transforming an already desirable E-Type into a refined grand touring roadster built to be driven and enjoyed.
Power comes from the matching-numbers 4.2-liter inline-six engine, which received a GTJ Level 3 rebuild featuring forged pistons, GTJ camshafts, balanced and blueprinted internals, upgraded oiling components, Crane ignition, aluminum flywheel, performance clutch, stainless braided lines, K&N induction, and an oil cooler system. Power is sent through a highly desirable GTJ 6-speed manual transmission, offering improved drivability and relaxed highway cruising compared to the original gearbox.
The extensive restoration continued throughout the chassis with a limited-slip differential, upgraded brakes featuring vented rotors and stainless steel lines, adjustable Koni shocks, heavy-duty anti-roll bars, reinforced suspension components, steering geometry improvements, and Dayton stainless spoke wheels wrapped in Michelin performance tires.
The body was restored to an exceptionally high standard, receiving a new bonnet, replacement floor panels, rocker panels, rear panels, chrome components, lighting, windshield, bumpers, and numerous structural improvements. A removable integrated roll bar, upgraded cooling system, rebuilt fuel tank, and air conditioning were also incorporated into the build.
Inside, the cabin was completely reimagined with rebuilt leather seats, burl veneer dashboard, updated gauges, custom console, upgraded audio system, four-point harnesses, and numerous refinished or replaced interior components. The result is a classic Jaguar that retains its unmistakable character while benefiting from modernized comfort, reliability, and performance.
